My name is Lara and I am the creator here at TRASHCAT CHICAGO.

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and have always had a passion for drawing and creating original characters, along with playing dress-up and making up stories with my siblings and friends. This creative passion was later channeled into my education and introduction to the fashion industry, as well as circus arts - I am currently training to be an aerialist!

I’ve learned a lot about business operations through my career - from merchandising, marketing, to physically shipping products to customers. However, for the longest time I’ve felt that one thing was missing: I still had the urge to create. After moving states for a bit, adopting a few cat friends, and a tough journey of self-actualization, I decided to combine my business and creative knowledge to develop my own brand and freelance design service.

In addition to custom design services, I am developing a selection of small batch merchandise which will be available for purchase HERE.
